Coaches will guide cheerleader's ages 6-10 in learning simple cheers to use throughout games, creating an energetic and fun atmosphere. If you're passionate about working with children and helping them build confidence through cheerleading, this is a great opportunity!

• Organize and direct YMCA youth cheer practices and cheerleading at youth football and basketball games.
• Provide opportunities for all athletes to learn and improve using effective coaching techniques and skills to teach the fundamentals for the sport in a fin and positive manner.
• Teach precautions and procedures to ensure safety and help prevent injuries. Promptly document all injuries.
• Maintain positive relationships with other staff, parents, and athletes.
• Communicate with parents during season
• Attend staff meetings and trainings
• Acquires of required certifications: CPR and First Aid

• Strong leadership skills
• Knowledge and experience in the sport of cheer
• 16+ year of age
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work weeknights and weekends as needed
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Strong communication skills with the ability to deal with children and the public calmly and diplomatically
