Overview

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Sports Coordinator provides direct supervision and leadership to all Sports events. The Sports Coordinator must maintain order and insure that staff, and volunteers are utilized appropriately to assure that the events are ran properly in accordance with the purpose and policies of the YMCA.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, tear down and moving equipment. Lifting and maneuvering 50 pounds and manually assisting participants.
  • Provide instruction of safely executed skills, correct progressions and evaluations regarding the levels of the class participants.
  • Follow all program policies for all ages
  • Communicate appropriately with participants’ Parents/ or Guardians
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings
  • Acquires of required certifications: CPR and First Aid
  • Will maintain a fast-paced, highly enthusiastic and energetic environment

Age Groups

  • Mommy and Me – Ages 2-3.5
  • Preschool/Kindergarten - Ages 4-6

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Knowledge and experience in the sport of Gymnastics
  • 18+ year of age
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work weeknights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deal with children and the public calmly and diplomatically

Posted Salary Range

USD $14.81 - USD $14.81 /Hr.
