Overview

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Facility Attendant is accountable for maintaining a safe and orderly environment in the designated area(s) of responsibility as well as exhibit exceptional customer service while enforcing facility policies and procedures for the safety and comfort of member guests and program participants. A positive attitude and strong communication, listening and organizational skills are required.

 

Shifts available are:
Saturday 11:30am-5:30pm
Sunday 12:30-6:00pm
Subbing as needed

Responsibilities

(50% membership based, 50% monitoring and conducting walkthroughs):

  • Ensure a positive and safe environment, and maintain control and cleanliness of designated area(s) of responsibility at all times.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Enforce all facility and YMCA rules, policies and philosophies.
  • Set-up and take down equipment, as necessary.
  • Respond to all emergencies in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Support and follow YMCA policies and decisions.
  • Answer member questions about the YMCA and its programs.
  • Answer incoming calls, redirect them as needed.
  • Assist Membership Representatives in providing tours of the Center.
  • Maintain a courteous, friendly attitude and be a positive role model.
  • Greet members and visitors
  • Monitor member/guest check-ins
  • Monitor the basketball courts and walking/running track
  • Conduct walkthroughs of the facility
  • Maintain and control foot traffic throughout the shift
  • Attend all training and meetings relating to the position.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Communication, listening, and organizational skills
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Must demonstrate exceptional customer service to members, guests and program
  • Must maintain a professional
  • Have basic computer keyboarding, data entry and job-related software applications
  • Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration

Posted Salary Range

USD $15.00 - USD $16.20 /Hr.
